Thinned lenses

The higher the strength of the lens in dioptres, the thicker the lens. To make thinner lenses of the same strength, thinned materials with a higher refractive index are used.
Thinner spectacle lenses are available in plastic and glass. Compared to conventional lens materials, plastic lenses are thinned up to 40% and glass lenses up to 50%. All thinner lens materials have anti-reflective coating.
