How to choose lenses for eyeglass frames?

A base index of 1.5 should be selected when the eyeglass prescription is between 0.00 D and ± 2.00 D.
A lens index of 1.6 should be selected when the eyeglass prescription is between ±2.00 D and ±4.00 D.
A lens index of 1.67 should be selected when the eyeglass prescription is between ±4.00 D and ±6.00 D.
A lens index of 1.74 should be selected when the eyeglass prescription is over ±6.00 D.
The higher the strength of the lens in dioptres, the thicker the lens. In this case, it is recommended to choose a higher index.
